Rec Me All The Romance

The other day at work, one of my coworkers told me that there was a super hot guy out front asking for me. When I get up to the office of my school, I go up there and all I can think is that this guy looks good in that shirt. I'm talking, GOOD.

You guys.

YOU GUYS.

It was my husband.

He swung by the school to grab my keys so he could get my tires rotated and wash my car. You guys. I checked out my own husband.

I have been married almost 20 years and I didn't recognize my own husband in a mask...you'd think I'd at least recognize his shirt!

Sooo...kinda made me want to read any romance about married couples/second chances. Give me all your recs please! Any sub genre; PNR, Romantic Suspense, Contemporay, Historical, your own if you’re an author...I don’t care, but I need this now!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! As we usher in the New Year, I've been thinking about resolutions. I don't usually make them, but I do usually set some goals and I think this year I will actually set one. I'll share a post I wrote for the Smart Girls Read Romance Blog:

This past year and a half has been hard in so many ways, and this year, with Christmas just having past, feels like it's driving in the point of how much I missed.

I feel like I've procrastinated so many things I normally wouldn't, and I've missed out on things I typically wouldn't. I was feeling pretty down this year. I mean, I didn't even send out Christmas cards! First time in almost 20 years that I didn't send out Christmas cards!

I was setting up my planner for the week, getting ready for the New Year, when I came across as sticker that said, "Be Present, Not Perfect." That one really hit home for me. I don't need it to be perfect, I need to be present in my life, in my family's lives. But it doesn't have to be perfect. I think this is my new motto.

I know it's not quite New Year's Day yet, but I think that my New Year's Resolution is to be present, not perfect.

How about you? Are you a New Year's resolution type person? Do you set them and forget them?

May 2022 be a wonderful year for all of us.  I wish you happiness and peace for the coming year.

Smart Girls Read Romance Blog

 Hi Everyone!

I've been invited to write a monthly post over on the Smart Girls Read Romance blog. I'm so excited to share this month's post with you! I wrote about when I decided to be a writer...or how it was never really a conscious choice, really. And with spooky season being upon us, I figured I'd share the spookiest of all stories, "The Legend of North Dakota"  (I wrote it when I was in elementary school, so spooky is a relative term).

Swing by the blog and let me know what you think?

Roughing It is in Paperback Now!

I have great news! ROUGHING IT is now available in paperback, and it's available wide!

Originally it was in Kindle Unlimited which meant that it could only be available on Amazon. Now, however, you can find it everywhere! All links are live. Click Amazon for the paperback option. I've added Goodreads and Bookbub in case you'd like to track your reads over there. Enjoy, friends!

Caught in the Crossfire by Stacey Agdern

Bryce Emerson only agreed to draw an account of the Empires Goalie Tryouts to humor his brother. But when a vision convinces him the woman who saved his prized pen from a snowy grave is in danger of being injured by a faulty mask, he takes it upon himself to make her a new one.

Goaltender Carly Fein is trying out for the New York Empires, and the last thing she needs is the complication of an artist. But when she agrees to let him make her a new mask, Bryce Emerson finds his way under her skin.

Can Bryce and Carly figure out what happens when they’re caught in the crossfire of love and hockey? Or will the stress of new love and competition drive them apart.

Crashing the Net by Isabo Kelly

Billionaire Connor Evans needs a challenge. Trying out for the New York Empires’ hockey team fits the bill, even if it is just a publicity stunt and a way to shut his twin brother up. Running into the woman who left him six years earlier, a woman he’s never gotten over, is not part of the plan. Once he sees Matty, though, Connor knows he can’t let her go again. But he’s got secrets he can’t risk sharing. And Matty is the one person who could uncover those secrets if he lets her get too close.

After traveling the world, Matilda Thomson is ready for a real job and a more stable life. Her internship with the New York Empires will give her the experience she needs to move into that future. But first, she has to face Connor again, and one of the most painful losses she’s ever experienced. The only way she can move forward is to confront her feelings and risk her heart one more time.

Heat and passion spark as hot as ever between them. But trust doesn’t come easy. And if Connor can’t open up and let Matty in this time, he’ll lose her forever.

Against the Boards by Kenzie MacLir

Kyle Sandberg is living his best life. He’s one of the top hockey players in the world. Has two amazing best friends and all the sarcastic hockey t-shirts he could wear. After his own family turns their backs on him, he’s happy playing for the Empires and hanging out with his own found family. What he doesn’t want is his pain in the ass twin brother back in his life or a mate.

When paramedic Faith Church left Puerto Rico for New York, she had zero intentions of getting involved in the local pack. Having had her fill of pack politics, she was ready to go lone wolf. But being left alone was too much to ask when her cousin was the Alpha’s mate.

What neither was counting on was Fate, having her own plans for them. A chance encounter at a traffic accident changes everything. Kyle and his wolf are willing to go with Fate’s plans. But Faith, having finally broken away from her pack’s expectations wants nothing to do with Fate, or Kyle. Too bad her wolf disagrees…

Murder Shows

When I was a kid, we didn't have cable, at least not until I was a teenager (the '90s). So when I stayed home sick from school, it was daytime TV. My favorite show was Unsolved Mysteries. I remember my sister and I would watch it together during summer break, and it was such an exciting series. We would get caught up in the mysteries and theorize as best as we could in the pre-internet era.

But now...not only is Unsolved Mysteries back (thank you Netflix!), but there are so many other options! I think it started for me a couple of years ago when a makeup YouTuber I watch was doing a Mystery Monday (Bella Fiori) series and I was hooked. I started looking into the unsolved mysteries she talked about, and then I found that it was a "thing." You know, not just a one-off, but that there were so many other channels that covered similar topics, and that lots of people were like me where we were incredibly intrigued by all the cases that weren't only unsolved, but were sometimes unexplainable.

Next up was Buzzfeed Unsolved, then podcasts, and so many more (Mr. Ballen - a Navy SEAL who now tells us all scary stories is my current fave).

So imagine my delight when I saw the SNL Murder shows video! This is so me! LOL

So tell me, do you guys like Murder Shows and podcasts? If so, share your favorite channels, podcasts, shows, whatever you prefer!
